Greenville County Fire fighters and Deputies to Deploy for Hurricane relief

45 Greenville County Fire Fighters and 6 Sheriff’s Deputies Will Leave Tomorrow in Preparation

The Greenville County Fire Chiefs’ Association, in preparation for Hurricane Matthew’s impact on South Carolina, announced today that a coordinated effort among Greenville County fire departments and the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office will deploy 45 fire fighter rescue technicians six deputies to Columbia tomorrow morning, October 7, 2016.

The responding fire fighters from numerous county departments and deputies with the sheriff’s office are members of the Greenville County Emergency Response Team (ERT) and will depart at 9:00 a.m. from the Boiling Springs Fire District’s headquarters at the corner of Pelham and Garlington Roads near I-85.

While these fire fighters are deployed to aid in the hurricane response, Greenville County’s fire chiefs want the public to know that fire protection in the county will not be affected thanks to numerous mutual aid agreements that are currently in place and allow multiple departments to respond to emergency situations and supplement personnel across jurisdictions.
