Proud to be an ISO Class 1 Rated Fire Department

9-11 Ceremonies to be Held

By: Taft Matney

This year, the District will conduct two events.

The first will be conducted at the District’s headquarters located at 5020 Pelham Road (at the corner of Pelham and Garlington Roads) in Greenville County.

With the District’s 9/11 Memorial as the backdrop, the public and members of the fire service are invited to assemble at 8:30 a.m., with a brief observance beginning at 8:46 a.m. – marking the time that the North Tower of the World Trade Center was hit by American Airlines Flight 11 after being hijacked by terrorists.

The event will feature Boiling Springs Fire District’s Honor Guard, a release of doves, and a prayer.

The second event will be held at 6:00 p.m. at the District’s community building located at 208 Blacks Drive in Greenville County.

This memorial service will have participation by an honor guard combining personnel from the fire service, law enforcement, and EMS. The service will include comments from Boiling Springs Fire District Chief Steve Graham, Greenville County Sheriff Hobart Lewis, and a keynote address from Chief Dwight Easler from Corinth Fire Department in Gaffney.

Light refreshments will be available from 5:30 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
